Nodular lesion

Clinical: painless, often pruritic subcutaneous nodule up to 2 cm in diameter.
Histology: coagulation necrosis of lower dermis and subcutaneous tissue with AFB in center.

Photograph (left) shows an early nodular lesion with incipient ulceration on the arm of a young Ghanaian.
